Schools and Learners
We offer a variety of regularly occurring programs for schools and at-home learners, from local in-person offerings to national offerings that happen in the digital space.
The Baylor Aquatic Science Series
CRASR began offering monthly talks for K-12 schools during the 2017-2018 school year on a variety of aquatic science topics. Tour a lab, learn about cool research going on, and ask questions of a real live scientist. Offered through Nepris and Texas STEM Connections, and a basic account is free.
After-school girls science clubs
After-school girls science clubs
CRASR has been engaged in providing female mentors to after-school programming since the 2012-2013 school year when a “Girls Science Adventure Club” was launched. CRASR’s after-school girls science clubs have expanded to four community sites and are facilitated by eight Baylor undergraduate mentors with an average weekly attendance of 10-12 girls in each club. CRASR is open to partnering with any school or community site in McLennan County to host after-school girls science clubs, or in helping you build your own.
School Water Festivals
The field trip that comes to you! Host a school water festival and engage your students in hands-on engaging activities centered on learning about water in our community. Designed with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in mind, and no bus or substitute teachers required!
School water festivals are available to schools in McLennan County.
