CRASR Summer Outreach

September 4, 2025

Fall semester has begun but here are some of the things that kept CRASR outreach busy over Summer 2025!

We partnered with Dr. James Fulton (BU-Geosciences), La Vega ISD and the Waco Rowing Center (WRC)during June and July to bring some River Science to the WRC’s summer camp on the Brazos and Bosque Rivers.

The Hillsboro Library Water and Art Day brought fun to learners of all ages!

A new partnership for this year was the STEM on the Frontier Camp at the Bosque Museum in Clifton where campers worked together to solve challenges related to water that settlers in the region may have faced and that we face today.

We hosted two Project WET Summer Educator Workshops at the Mayborn Museum.  Fifteen classroom teachers and informal educators received two of Project WET’s most recent activity guides courtesy of CRASR.

CRASR provided materials and supplies for what appeared to be a wildly successful water science event hosted on campus by BU-SETAC and Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
