Teachers in State Parks

The Teachers in State Parks program had a successful launch despite record-breaking heat. Ten first-grade to high school teachers kayaked, hiked, tested water quality and learned about state park resources at 5 state parks: Fort Parker, Mother Neff, Lake Whitney and Meridian. The program is a partnership between CRASR and Education Service Center Region 12 and is funded by the Community Outdoor Outreach Program (CO-OP). Teachers in State Parks seeks to connect teachers to the parks and provide them with the knowledge and resources they need to design field instructional experiences that truly extend their classrooms into the outdoors including at least one state park field trip in the coming school year.
