World Wetlands Day 2022

CRASR scientists and students celebrated World Wetlands Day (which happens on Feb 2nd every year) at a Meet the Scientist event at the Mayborn Museum. Wetland ecologist and CRASR Director Dr. Robert Doyle (also known as Swamp Thing) showed even the littlest learners how to look at wetland plants under a microscope. CRASR interns and student leaders used a model to demonstrate how wetlands protect our communities by storing water and removing pollutants. Information about Texas Wetlands and our local Lake Waco Wetlands was also shared with visitors to the museum.

Upcoming events at the Mayborn include World Water Day on Saturday, March 26th and Earth Day on Saturday, April 23rd from 2-4 pm.
